Chief District Court Judge Daniel Finch on Tuesday signed an emergency order that states that Kelly Morris was likely the victim of a homicide and that Scott Morris was likely involved in her death.

A custody hearing is scheduled for Friday.

The order states that Scott Morris had the “intent to deceive” investigators, made numerous inconsistent statements to authorities about his whereabouts the day his wife went missing and will likely be charged with kidnapping and/or murder.

The order further suggests that Scott Morris' father, Jimmy Morris, might have been involved in a cover-up.

Reckon Ma Pat is next to be named Confused

We already know the cops have been talking about it.

The blaming of the victim has started up at WRAL. Must be some redneck buddy of Scott's or his daddy.

Kelly was having an affair...

I believe Kelly was in the process of trying to divorce him. The mud is going to sling now. Some of her friends are saying Scott had a GF too and since then has become a father. Scott's beat up the GF too.

Figure the Brevardians will come out swinging again if they arrest JY?

No doubt.
Judging from Goin's latest, there will be an all out smear campaign directed towards Meredith as the likely killer.

WRAL has a pic of him in his orange jumpsuit online now. I see the jail shaved off his goatee. WTVD aired a shot of him being booked last night and he was sporting chin hair.

sounds a lot like Brad Cooper . Both were in failed marriages and probably had a big fight and the wife died. Both tried to ditch the body and cover their tracks. Both yapped to the cops with different and impossible stories. This guy can't really be as dumb as he looks....yea, he really is.

JY not talking has bought 3 years .
The party will soon be over, however.

As I've said many times, having an affair can be a reason for a divorce, not an excuse for murder.

All 3 wife killers are worthless scum.
Jason Young is a few notches below the bottom of the barrel. No excuse, but at least the other 2 losers killed their wives in the heat of passion.
Young decided in advance to erase his wife and son.....death penalty case if there ever was one.

"At a news conference Wednesday afternoon, Granville County Sheriff Brindell Wilkins said authorities received information Monday that led them to a wooded area off Sam Moss Hayes Road in Creedmoor, where the remains identified using dental records – were found Tuesday afternoon"

Hmmm. No hunters, sounds like a 'tip' came in Monday and the cops finally found the remains Tuesday afternoon. Reckon Scottie talked to a bud and he/she then turned to the cops for the $30k reward ? Me thinks so.

Betcha that is exactly the break the DA has been waiting on in Brevard.
Give it a little extra time and one of his buds may eventually squeal.
Time's almost up though. Sounds like it's close to 'nothing else to get' Wink

I'm pleased to read they finally arrested this jerk!!! and hope they're focusing on arresting his daddy too! Also, I'm at peace that the children are in custody of their maternal grandparents; as it should be!

Kelly Morris, may she forever rest in peace...

A District Court judge on Friday extended an order giving temporary custody of the 6-year-old daughter of Scott and Kelly Morris to her maternal grandfather until at least January.

Quote:
He is in jail without bond, but he did appear at the brief hearing Friday about the custody of the couple's daughter, Haley.

"In my position, I really don't see what I can do," he told Judge Daniel Finch. "The only thing that I ask is that I would like for you to allow my parents to see (Haley)."

Scott Morris did not indicate whether he planned to hire an attorney to represent him in the civil matter. He has 30 days to respond to the complaint.

We saw this type of behavior leveled at JY in the WDS and custody suit the Fisher's filed.

Quote:
In the document, Kelly Morris' father and stepmother allege that in the months prior to their daughter's disappearance that Scott Morris "engaged in a pattern of emotional abuse directed toward Kelly and both of her children."

It also cites an affidavit of an State Bureau of Investigation agent claiming that Scott Morris had "punched holes in the wall during arguments and once threw a computer out a window."

Jerry Cates, a local locksmith, said she had called on him to re-key her house a little more than a month prior to her disappearance.

Morris was clearly frightened, he said.

"Just speaking, you could tell it," he said Thursday. "I mean, when she just asked me, 'If you could please let me be gone in case he (her husband) comes up here.' I mean what else was there to do?"

Cates said Morris did not want her husband to see her at home when the locks were being changed, so she left while he changed the locks.

For Cates, he said, seeing Kelly Morris that day at her house is something he'll never forget.

"She was a good person," he said. "She didn't deserve this."

NC WANTED's Top 9 Stories of 2009

November 18, 2009: Kelly Morris Remains Found, Husband Arrested

The case of missing Stem mother Kelly Morris was finally resolved November 18 when her skeletal remains were found in southern Granville County, ending an exhaustive search. Her husband, Scott Morris, was arrested and charged with murder the same day.

Kelly Morris was last seen Sept. 3, 2008. The following day, the house she shared with her family in Stem caught fire, which officials ruled was arson. Hours afterward, authorities found Morris' car about a mile from her home with her keys, purse and cell phone inside.

Slain mom's parents awarded full child custody

Oxford, N.C. — A District Court judge on Thursday granted full custody of a slain Granville County woman's 6-year-old daughter to her parents.

Pat Currin and his wife, Juanita Currin, filed a request for custody in November, the same day authorities discovered the remains of his daughter, Kelly Morris, in a wooded area in Creedmoor.

(...)

Scott Morris was called to testify at Thursday's hearing, but he invoked his Fifth Amendment right not to do so. His attorney, Jerry Clayton, presented no evidence and no one testified on his client's behalf.

Pat and Juanita Currin both testified.

"I love her," Juanita Currin said of the 6-year-old. "We are committed to do whatever it takes to get her whatever she needs."

Each said they have allowed Scott Morris' parents to visit with the child on three occasions – a request he made before the judge at a temporary custody hearing in November.
